So, What Happened to the Cow?

Nearly seventy years after the cow, with the help of my aunts and uncles, I located the original cow garage at the first Imbrogno family home in Lorain, Ohio.

The family now living in the house was very hospitable. They toured me through the home and allowed me time alone with the cow garage. I made it just in time. A month later they were gone and the house and garage were abandoned.

I asked my Uncle Bob what happened to the cow.
He said, “She died.”
I figured that, but what happened to her, I asked?
“We ate her.”
You mean you just did her in and ate her?
“Naw, she died on her own.”

Didn’t you want to know why she died before you ate her?
“It turned out she died from eating an inner tube, so it was OK.”
