My brother Doug was searching for a name for his band. I tried to convince him to draw from his roots and call it “Cow Garage.” (If you missed the explanation of the family cow garage on the home page, click here.) . Following the usual family pattern we bantered back and forth for over two years about the value of this idea. Finally, he accepted the idea at the same time that I was looking for a name for my photo-essay website. I thought about wresting the Cow Garage name back from him, but didn’t want to endure another two years of wrangling. So, after a little more thinking we found resolution with my photo-essay website, “The Cowgarage,” and his “Garagecow Ensemble” www.garagecow.com .
